On Friday afternoon we went back to the East Heads Viewpoint and Coney Glen Beach. This was our third visit to this area. The third time was the charm, as there was finally no fog and we got to take in the spectacular view. It was definitely worth the wait! On Sunday we visited a different beach that a local woman recommended and enjoyed dinner out at the Knysna Waterfront.
East Heads Viewpoint
It was so fun to finally see this remarkable view without the fog! If you look through the heads in one direction you see the Indian Ocean, in the other direction the Knysna Lagoon. There was a local guy selling his art there and Alexis and I each bought something. They are small enough they shouldn’t be too hard to carry around for the rest of our trip.

We were the only people at Coney Glen beach. The kids had fun running around we all enjoyed soaking up the sunshine. This place is starting to feel like our own private beach!

Buffalo Bay Beach
Dave joined a gym for the month that we are here and got some local recommendations from the woman at the front desk. We plan to check out almost everything she recommended, and first on the list was Buffalo Bay beach. This was about 20 minutes from us and was worth the drive. It had a huge expansive beach for walking and the sand was perfectly packed. The water was clean and a beautiful blue/turquoise color. There was a shark bite kit at the entrance to the beach, which we had never seen before.

We loved having a huge wide-open space to walk and the weather was perfect. There were sea snails scattered around the beach and they left these fun designs.

There was also this steep sand hill that you could climb. It was quite a workout and gave us amazing views from the top. Braxton did it twice. You have to zoom in on the picture to see Braxton and understand the size of the hill. The picture makes it look small.

Ending the Day at the Waterfront
To round out our weekend we had dinner at the Knysna Waterfront. We all had various seafood dishes and they were delicious. We are eating most of our meals at home while in South Africa. The grocery options are fantastic and there’s not a lot of local food we want to try. I feel like I am constantly blown away by the natural beauty here. Everything is lush and green and I love hearing all the birds outside our windows. South Africa’s landscape is truly remarkable!

Seriously breathtaking! I’m so jealous of good seafood, too!
