We have less than two weeks left in Barcelona and we are trying our best to stay present and soak up the remaining days of our gap year. In an effort to embrace this time, I’ve been focusing on enjoying the things that we’ve grown to love about Barcelona. Things we will look back on and miss when we return to Colorado.
Salty Air and Sandy Feet, Any Time of Day
Dave and I continue to enjoy beach walks in the mornings. We often don’t talk much during this time, each of us enjoying our own thoughts. It’s one of my favorite times of the day.
When we all go to the beach we take turns relaxing, swimming, or playing catch with Braxton. The water has really warmed up the last week.

Dave and I have enjoyed a few date nights at the beach just the two of us. The beach is less crowded later in the evening and the temperature is perfect.

The beach is also wonderful at night. Braxton loves it because he has space to run! There’s just something about twinkly lights and water.

Daily Walks with the Kids
Alexis and I have re-established daily walks like we did in Thailand. Unlike my walks with Dave, we ALWAYS talk, and I cherish this time with her so much. We chat about her going to high school, things we’ve loved about this year, the current books we are reading, and anything else that pops into our minds.

Sometimes Braxton joins us for our walk, or he and I will go to the park and play catch. I’m not always the best quarterback, but he’s very gracious. He loves to take his shoes off and run barefoot. Here he is standing in the water that is next to where we like to play. He may or may not be washing his feet off after accidentally stepping in fresh dog poop.

Stone Buildings, Stunning Sunsets, and a Survey
I try really hard to notice all the buildings around us as we walk around the city. They are beautiful and so vastly different from what we see in Colorado. Sunsets are pretty all over the world, but they always look different depending on the backdrop.

My amazing sister sent us a survey to complete about our year. It has 53 questions and has been so fun to answer. It’s given us all the opportunity to reflect on our year of travels and all the memories we’ve made. I’m looking forward to making a few more with our remaining summer days in Barcelona.
