Half way through school this morning, Dave got a notification from Uber that they were running a special for Mother’s Day. Confused, he looked to see if the date was wrong on his phone and discovered that today is Mother’s Day in Costa Rica. Not long after that we were sitting on our patio, and the parents of Braxton’s new friend said “Happy Mother’s Day in Costa Rica”!
Dave asked how I wanted to celebrate. We’re not big on celebrating those types of holidays, so I made my usual request: a hug from everyone and no cooking for the day. After school this morning we went to the pool. Braxton’s friend’s mom gave us some local fruit as a gift, which was so kind! It was delicious!
Even though we’re not big on celebrating these holidays, I still enjoyed taking a moment to reflect on all the wonderful mothers I know. So if you are reading this and one of them – Happy 2nd Mother’s Day! You all are amazing!
We spent the afternoon swimming and reading. A giant iguana joined us. A great way to spend the day! I wonder how many Mother’s Days I will get to celebrate this year!?
