We started our second semester of school today and it already feels good to have that routine to anchor our days. The kids will be studying the Vietnam War while we’re here, and we’re excited about the various historical sites we can visit to deepen their understanding (and ours!). During our school break we enjoyed getting settled into our time here in Vietnam. In addition to indulging in the great food and an amazing motorbike tour, we did a lot of relaxing. We spent time reading, indulging in some self-care, taking walks, swimming, and recently visited the Saigon Skydeck.
Salon Services at Bargain Prices
Alexis recently got her nails done for $18.67 and Braxton got his haircut for $1.70. Not only were the prices low, but the service was exceptional!

Enjoying our Surroundings
There is a beautiful tree lined street in front of our condo complex where we take a lot of walks. It’s nice and shady! Sometimes the motorbikes are noisy, but that never lasts long. We often see different vendors set up selling various things. We even saw a guy selling a turtle!

Our condo complex has a pool with an amazing view. The water is freezing, so we haven’t done much swimming – but it’s nice to sit by the pool and enjoy the view.

Saigon Skydeck
We recently visited the Saigon Skydeck. The Skydeck is located on the 49th floor of the Bitexco Financial Tower and gives a 360 degree view of Ho Chi Minh City. The expansive view of the city was beautiful! We went late afternoon and got to see a gorgeous sunset, as well as both day and night views of the city.

The air quality here was particularly bad today. We went for a short walk after school, but our heads hurt and our eyes itched fairly quickly, so we spent most of the day inside. Dave and I enjoyed some Vietnamese coffee and did some research on our future locations.

Braxton, your hair looks great! I want to see Alexi’s nails! I’m so happy to see you guys thriving here. So cool you’re going to learn about the Vietnam war while you’re there, can’t wait to hear about it.
Okay I zoomed closer and see the nails, I love them, Alexis!! 🖤
