South Africa was a country we almost skipped, and I’m so glad we didn’t. Although it was a long haul to get here, we have all enjoyed exploring the natural beauty of this country. The Garden Route area has some of the most beautiful landscape I’ve ever seen. It truly is breathtaking! Observing elephants, zebras, and other extraordinary animals in the wild will definitely be a top memory of this year. Although the staggering signs of poverty were difficult to witness, I appreciate the perspective it gives us.
Here is a slideshow capturing the memories from our night in Seychelles and our time here in South Africa, as well as some fun stats.

Our Last Continent – Europe Here We Come!
I will miss the nature that surrounds us here, the expansive blue skies, and the distinct sound of the Hadada Ibis birds flying over our condo each morning. We leave for Portugal tomorrow evening, and have about 30 hours of travel ahead of us to get there. We have never been to Europe and I’m excited to see how it feels compared to the other places we have been. We will be spending five weeks in Portugal, then wrapping up our year with 6 weeks in Spain. Old-world architecture and cafe culture here we come!
